Frequently asked questions

How does a gift card work for whoever buys it?

They open the link, pick one of the amounts you set, write who it is for, the delivery address, a message and a date, then pay by card.

When do I get the money for a gift card?

Straight away, at purchase: the amount lands on your Stripe account minus Bink’s fee (5% + €0.25 on the free plan, 2.5% + €0.25 on Pro, 1.6% + €0.30 on Business). Nobody waits for the card to be redeemed.

Do I get to set the amounts?

Yes: you declare a list of amounts — say €50, €100 and €150 — or a minimum, a maximum and a step. Buyers pick from those and cannot type an amount of their own.

How does the gift card reach the person it is for?

The purchase email goes to the delivery address the buyer wrote, and the buyer gets a copy. Recipient name, message and delivery date come back with the order, next to the rest of the sale.

Do I need a website or a VAT number to sell gift cards?

A website, no: the gift card has its own page and link. Getting paid needs a Stripe account in your name. Tax duties stay yours: Bink keeps the record of every payment and, on Pro and Business, prepares the Italian e-invoice.

Do I need an account to sell gift cards?

Yes, the account is created when you save the gift card: email and password, free and no card. To get paid you then connect your Stripe account from the dashboard, and from that moment the page sells.
